Hornets Drop MIAA Home Opener to Olivet

The Hornets dropped a 67-61 decision against Olivet College Friday evening. The Hornets led 5 different times throughout the contest, but were unable to close the deficit. The Hornets cut within 3 points with 3:45 left in the contest (60-57), but could never inch closer as a 3 point shot on a skip pass with 3 seconds remaining on the shot clock shut down the Kalamazoo comeback.

Kalamazoo was led in scoring by Sophomore Carly Zeitlin and Freshman Lauren Rosenthal (11 points each). Zeitlin and Rosenthal were followed by Senior Briana Hendrix and Junior Courtney Kaplan who added 9 points each. Hendrix and Kaplan shot a combine 5-8 from 3 point range while combining for 7 of the Hornets 13 steals.
